This used log yard system from Springer is a fully equipped solution for processing long and short logs.

The system combines robust conveyor technology, precise measuring systems and a powerful Nicholson A6 debarking machine.

It was developed for continuous industrial operation and is ideal for sawmills, wood processing plants and biomass plants.

Technical description

Log yard jumper for long and short logs, consisting of:

Feeding and infeed

• Feeding cross conveyor, 4-beam, center distance (AA) = 7,000 mm, beam thickness 160 mm
• Feeding cross conveyor for short timber, 3-beam
• Separating cross conveyor
• Log feeder, two-part
• Infeed for debarking with longitudinal chain conveyor, AA = 20,000 mm
• Log collecting device with support and centering roller in front of the debarking machine

Debarking machine

• Rotor-centered debarking machine make Nicholson, type A6
• Feed diameter: approx. 100 - 900 mm
• Main drive: 46 kW
• Centering device electric, hydraulic and pneumatic
• Hydraulic unit: 15 kW

Extraction and sorting

• Longitudinal chain conveyor after debarking, AA = 17,000 mm, with sliding roller on both sides and 2 unboxers
• Cross transport device, 7-beam

- Measuring and cross-cut system consisting of:

• AA = 16,000 mm longitudinal chain conveyor
• Bloch collecting device and measuring station with weather protection cladding
• AA longitudinal chain conveyor = 25,000 mm, 2 unboxers
• Clamping device for logs
• Cross-cut section with circular saw, blade diameter 2,000 mm
• AA longitudinal chain conveyor = 5,500 mm
• Clamping device after the cross-cut saw
• Longitudinal chain conveyor AA = 9,000 mm

Sorting system

• Round timber sorting point hoist, AA = 6,000 mm
• Log collecting device and bridging unit for long logs
• Unboxer for 38 boxes (4 of which are double-occupied)

Hydraulics and control system

• Central hydraulic system with drive elements, piping and complete central lubrication system (Neuson)
• Automatic 2-line high-pressure lubrication system for all slideways and carrier chains
• Conventional and electronic control system, fully wired and cabled
• Pneumatic and hydraulic equipment completely available
• SPRECHER 2D measuring system (as good as new)
